Harbour Shipping Opens New HQ

Longstanding Dover business Harbour Shipping makes multi-million pound investment in new Headquarters at Whitfield Business Park.

Founded in Dover in 1983, Harbour Shipping has been one of the UK’s leading independent companies for customs clearance and ferry bookings for decades, with offices at both the Eastern and Western Docks. After a £4 million investment, in January 2025 the company will move into a state-of-the-art headquarters building on the Honeywood Business Park in Whitfield, Dover.

Harbour Shipping has always adapted to the continuous changes in the legal processes, shipping routes and technology that affect freight imports and exports between the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, not just from Dover but from every port in the British Isles.

Harbour Shipping Director Steve Applebee commented,

“Harbour Shipping has been quietly providing our clients with outstanding professional service for over 40 years. We have employed and trained generations of staff in the freight and customs industries from our offices at the docks. Our new HQ is a major vote of confidence in the town and port of Dover and in the wider British freight industry. As a Dover man myself, I’m delighted we’ll be able to serve our clients better from Whitfield as well as giving our colleagues first-class facilities.”

Harbour Shipping’s new office building is well-situated off the A2 above Dover. It has 2 storeys: one storey for the Ferry Bookings and Administration teams; and one storey for the Customs Clearance teams, both Road Freight and Deep Sea. It is built to the highest ecological standards with solar power and electric charging points.
