Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children

At Harbour Shipping we support a number of charities through the year. This comes both officially through donations and events and unofficially through supporting colleagues’ individual fund-raising at times like Movember.

This week was the turn of the annual Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children. Dozens of colleagues across all our offices and teams enthusiastically signed up to this festive occasion. Encouraged by the freezing Winter weather many dusted off their most spectacular Christmas-themed jumpers to wear to work. There were many colourful variations including VW Campervans, West Ham team colours and many more.

Save the Children suggested a £2 donation that the British government promised to double but most people treated that as a minimum. We thank the generosity of our colleagues in raising funds for such a good cause with the final amount having to be tallied across multiple offices.

Harbour Shipping Managing Director Steve Applebee, wearing his Christmas colours, commented,

“This is an event we’re really enthusiastic about and it gets everyone into the Christmas spirit with just a few weeks to go now. I think we’re on course to beat last year’s donations.”
