We recently posted an advice note to advise that HMRC’s GVMS system is being used incorrectly (see here), in particular relating to inbound transit movements. Whilst the responsibility for completing a GMR has always been on the carrier/haulier there are circumstances where an intermediary can complete the declarations too, and Harbour Shipping can be that intermediary when appropriate.

Please follow these guidelines if you wish to use our GMR service with Harbour Shipping as your trusted intermediary:
- If your vehicle is empty, we only require a simple statement to confirm this.
- If your vehicle is loaded, we need the details of the consignments loaded to your vehicle along with the corresponding customs declarations (if they have not been completed by ourselves).
- Where consignments are covered by an ATA Carnet please let us know the relevant carnet numbers.
