The Harbour Shipping team are busy preparing for the forthcoming introduction of the new HMRC CDS system that will process imports declarations from September 22, and exports from April 23.

We are encouraging all of our clients to prepare for this and take note of the following instructions to help with the transition:

Get Registered for CDS: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/get-access-to-the-customs-declaration-service

Before you start your registration, you will need the following information:
1. Government Gateway ID and password.
2. EORI number.
3. UTR find your UTR .
4. Address of your business held on customs records.
5. National Insurance (NI) if you're an individual or sole trader.
6. The date you started your business.

Once the above has been completed, you'll gain access either straight away or within 5 working days (if HMRC need to make more checks).
